EsauFlames leader of delegation Flora Mwandira said the association secured a ground which they were asked to pay US$100 (K14,000) for a training session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Malawi national soccer team delegation, which is going to Burkina Faso for Africa Nations Cup crucial qualifier against the Stallions, arrived in Addis Ababa on Sunday evening and it is expected to leave Tuesday morning.

Coach Kinnah Phiri said the nine players, who were in Ethiopia, were expected to train in the afternoon Tuesday.

"The players need to stretch after a long flight. We need to have all the players in shape,"  Kinnah  said.

The team left Kamuzu International Airport at 7:55 pm for Addis Ababa on Sunday after its 3:00 pm  flight was delayed.

The Ethiopian Airways flight touched down at Addis Ababa International Airport at 11:45 pm and proceeded to Four Star Riviera International Hotel.

The Flames delegation, which also comprise Fam President Walter Nyamilandu, chief executive officer Charles Nyirenda with  Mwandira as leader of delegation, is expected to leave today at 10 am for Ouguadougo. It is expected to arrive in the afternoon.

Nyirenda said 14 South Africa based players will fly straight from Johannesburg to Burkina Faso and Kinnah is expected to have a full squad by today evening.

The Flames are expected to take on Burkina Faso on Saturday in a must win game to qualify for the Africa Nations Cup final in Angola.

Malawi and Guinea are fighting for a third slot to book a ticket to Angola.

Guinea need to beat Ivory Coast in Abidjan while praying that Malawi lose to Burkina Faso for them to qualify for the finals.

Malawi have four points while Guinea have three.

I am not happy to hear Kone and Drogba are not in the Cote D'Ivoire team playing
Guinea on Saturday. To be honest, Malawi's hopes to reach Angola rests on Ivory
Cost's triump in Abidjan. Otherwise, Guines draw with the African giants will
mean we are doomed. I am pessimistic of a win in Burkina Faso. But I want my
flames to kick a ball on 10th january in Angola.
