This reminds me of the book of Luke that when Our Lord Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem, He healed 10 men from leprosy but guess what? In chapter 17:15 the Bible records that " one of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus's feet and thanked him".
You can just imagine that, out of 10 men healed, only one remembered to come back and say thank you.
In verse 17, our Lord Jesus is wondering "were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? A very interesting story indeed.
The word thank you is the best thing to say more especially when someone has done us a favour or has helped us in any way. It is very unfortunate that there are still some people out there who fail to say thank you no matter what anybody can do to them.
Say, for example, you are a married person and your partner has brought you a gift or buys you something, do you remember to say thank you or you take them for granted?
Suppose a friend have come to visit you, do you remember to say thank you for providing their time, warmth and smile.
Do we ever remember to say thank you for taking someone's time or could it be space, maybe they provide us some resources both material or emotional?
Do we remember to say thank you at all? Say a plumber has come to your house to fix your toilet which was giving out a very bad smell, do you remember to say thank you for fixing it?
It could be his job yes, but does that make him any less deserving of gratidude for doing it and making your life and that of your family just a little bit easier?
All I am sharing here is that it is very human to say thank you, appreciating what our partners, friends or relatives give, those good things that they do to us no matter how little.
Believe me when I say that the word thank you makes a difference, it leaves the person you are saying thank you to feel good and appreciated and it makes that person wanting to do good things more and more even unto others. God is even happy with those people who are able to say thank you.
Enjoy your weekend!
