FOOTBALL-MALAWI: FMB bank is impressed with the impact its sponsorship on Under-20 Youth League has on the development of youth football in the country.
Sylivia Mataka, Head of Marketing for FMB bank, said on Friday that they were happy to see players graduating from FMB Youth league to play for the national team and Super League teams.
She was speaking at a press briefing ahead of the youth league's national finals scheduled for September 28-29.
"I would like to thank Fam and National Youth League for making the league going on," Mataka said.
"More people are now interested in the league. That is for us to be proud of that what we are sponsoring is really working."
She said they had lined up a number of activities such as parading of either Malawi Defence or Malawi Police Service brass band on Sunday to raise awareness of the finals.
Fam president Walter Nyamilandu hailed FMB bank for its commitment to develop youth football.
"This sponsorship has been a success in opening the doors for the future of Malawi football," Nyamilandu said.
"Your investment is not in vain. You have invested where it matters most and you will only realise the results in future."
He also said people had come to have interest in the youth football development.
