A woman in Nkhota Kota is ruing her luck as she has not only lost an ear lobe but is on the verge of losing her husband as well.

It all started last Sunday when Metro supermarket premises in Dwangwa turned into a battle field as two women engaged in a fierce fight over a cheating husband.

The fight resulted into one of them, Monica Chilundu, losing her right ear lobe.

The drama ensued after Monica realised that Bridget Banda, 36, was in a secret love affair with her husband Bruno Chilundu who works as a foreman at Isaac Engineering Works, contractors of Illovo Sugar Company.

"The husband just left his matrimonial home some days ago for an unknown destination leaving his wife and children without food," said our source.

Monica, meanwhile, got a tip that her husband had been sleeping at Bridget's house.

"Monica followed her husband to Bridget's house but she did not find them. She instead caused havoc by throwing out house items," said the source.

Later, Monica found the two love-birds at Dwangwa Trading Centre where Bridget sells vegetables.

The irate wife confronted her rival and a fight soon ensued. Efforts by Chilundu to separate his brawling women failed. Things turned ugly when Bridget bit off Monica's ear lobe.

She was rushed to Nkhunga Health Centre where she was treated as an out-patient. She has since lodged a complaint with Nkhunga Police Sta-tion.

Labani Makalani, the station's publicist, confirmed the incident, saying police arrested Bridget and charged her with unlawful wounding.

"We also summoned the two to our Victim Support Unit where the hus-band made it clear that he intends to divorce his wife because she is too talkative," he said.
